Children Education For The Age 0-12 Months
From the time of birth the newborn baby each month makes fast progress. He experiences the world around him through the external sense objects like taste, smell, sound, touch and sight.
He perceives the world much differently than we experience it. His communication is very different from the communication of the adults. Little baby is totally dependant on his parents and they are his first teacher and providers of the knowledge of the outside world.
One of the first things a baby learns is how well you are treating him. In first six weeks the baby makes bond with his parents and learns a lots of information from them and about them. For instance, when a baby cries, if you don’t come immediately to his aid, he may feel unhappy and uncared for.
In the first few months your baby’s eyesight is not strong and fully developed. In the beginning the baby can se about 10 inches away. He learns about you better if you bring your face closer to his face. After some time he fill start to follow your movement with his eye’s movement. He learns about you by watching you.
In the first year the baby uses his hearing sense to listen sounds. By listening your voice he recognises you and calms down feeling protected. It is very good practice to sing sweetly to a baby. Besides feeling safe and cared for, his brain is developing strong synapses for learning language. By hearing your happy voice and laughter, the baby learns that he is sheltered and secured.
Your baby will also learn by the aroma that he smells. Most of the children can recognise their mothers just by smelling them. Nice aromas and fragrances can show to a baby that all is all right and safe.
One of the most important learning tool at this age is also the sense of touch. Touch of a parent is sending many informations to a baby. When you hold it in your arms or are gently massaging him, the baby feels safe and loved.
Thought the taste of the breast milk from his mother, the baby can know how the mom is feeling and what she has eaten. It is good advice to eat light food, not to salty, not to hot or heavy and feel calm and happy while breastfeeding.
To adults, the baby seems like a small human being, not really aware about the environment, but babies are very intelligent and capable to learn fast from all the five senses.
